This exciting teaching kitchen project was fit out from an existing gym area at JMU. The space works as a cooking demonstration classroom and a student cooking classroom, which operates both in-person and on television. The space includes a kitchen, a six-station lab, and a robust storage for culinary ingredients. The teaching kitchen comfortably fits 30 students, several overhead cameras, and two large wall-mounted monitors. The student-lab area accommodates up to six teams of three students, with each area housing a professional grade stove, refrigerators, and a large variety of appliances.
